Renault 5 turbo Idle problems
Discussion
Looking for some advice for idle problems on a renault 5 turbo phase 2 1989. The car has been sat for 5 or so years and i have had it running for a few weeks. The car will idle fine from starting cold but once warmed up fully becomes a bit erratic and will not idle steadily. When erratic the revs go from 900rpm up to 1500rpm up and down and occasionally stalls. starting back up is not an issue but the car is undriveable. I have done all the basics and even tried another AEI unit with no joy. Plugs and leads have been renewed as have all other basic service parts and perished hoses. Am i missing something simple??

Looking at it, the tank looks plastic. i have added around 15 litres of fresh fuel whilst working on the car so may have to pop the carb off and give it a good clean. Surely the fact that it starts fine from cold would rule out fueling issues?
The fact that it starts from cold, when the choke will be on, points directly to fuelling issues. Unless of course the choke is stuck on....either wayl fuelling issue. They have a strange reserve tank which means they won't start if you run it dry and only stick 5 litres in(unless you turn the starter over for more than 60 seconds) , I think the reserve holds 15 litres and you need to add more than this if you completely run out, and it has a pump which tops the main tank up from the reserve.
Also there is a needle in the carb which is very easy to snap if adjusted to far in, you need to order it from renault and I think they cost about 22 quid(or it did in 1999) and iirc comes with gaskets because you need to strip the carb to remove the snapped bit, when the needle snaps it causes erratic idle issues.
