Can anyone near me help?

My wing mirrors are annoying me.

They vibrate. The left hand one is worst. It vibrates and moves. So half way through a journey I am looking at the sky.

I've tried taking the mirror out as instructed in the manual to do the mod - but I can't get the damn thing out.

Has anyone in Surrey or SW London done it before? I don't suppose anyone could help me do it this weekend? Maybe Sat?

Will have to be done by 11:00 tho so like I say, if you can come over early then no problem.

Can you not fix this from the inside with a modification to the mirror 'joystick' e.g. jam a piece of wood or plastic in the internal mechanism under the rubber boot/gaiter. A lot less chance of breaking the mirror glass. I think this is how Bondy tried sorting it out?

Have any of you done what I am attempting to do?

Apparently it is quite easy, but obviously I am doing something wrong. I am sure it is only a 30min job for someone that has done it before.

I'll take a look at doing the mini rubber fix - does it work well? Though I prefer to take the mirror off.

Yes ... I just can't get the mirror to pop out! Is there a special trick I need to use? Or do I need to try harder?

I move the mirror as much as I can with a screwdriver but it just does not pop out.

I move the mirror as much as I can with a screwdriver but it just does not pop out.

Nothing special - just use the screwdriver or anything else flat and strong to push the mirror off the clip - you need to apply force away from the car and it should just pop off.

I found that if you try and hold the mirror in a flat position before applying the force rather than letting the mirror tilt in or out was easier if you kind of understand what I am trying to say - you are welcome to come by York and I will take them off

OK so I tried again over the weekend.

I pushed it flat with one hand and used a screw driver the other to push it out of the clip.

But the mirro goes all the way over till it hits the mirror housing and still it does not come off!

I cannot push it any further.

Any ideas? Otherwise I am going to have to trouble someone who has done it this weekend!

insert finger under one edge, insert screwdriver under other edge now pull screwdriver towards you whilst stopping the mirror going inwards with ur finger and it pops out GL

Managed to do it!

I needed two screwdrivers though.

Insert one to push it. Insert the other to actually push the back plate away from the mirror front.

The plastic had a lot of flex in it so pushing from one side did not manage to do it as the back moved with the mirror front.

Once off stick some tape to the green flap to increase its thickness slightly so there is better grip. Reinstall and voila - no more vibrating mirrors!

So happy!

did you get any pictures if what you did ?

am i right you have added tape to behind the flat mirror ?

No pictures unfortunately ....

But when you take the mirror out there is a green flap at 90 deg to the mirror that runs into the plastic back. Stick some tape to this.

There's a section in the Noble assembly manual last chapter that discusses how to fix the loose mirrors by pulling the mirror off and putting a piece of electrical tape around the adjuster bar so that it is thicker and offers more resistance, however, I noticed that eventhough my car came with that mod, my passenger side mirror still did not maintain the angle I set so I put a rubber piece behind the mirror to hold it in the right spot for me and it has been perfect ever since LOL

They are just Rover 25 mirrors so quite easy to swap for heated electric ones and after a few hours work you have no more shaky mirrors and a nice switch to play with too
