I've recently bought an E92 320D. Hadn't really given diesel much thought until I pulled into a BP station the other day and noticed there was a choice - regular or BP Ultimate Diesel! Are there any advantages to using this (or something similar), or should I stick with regular diesel?

Cheers.

I use V-Power diesel in my (out of warranty) Focus 1.6 tdci for the following reasons.

A, It feels better, more responsive to drive (not noticebly quicker though).
B, seems to give a bit more mpg
C, I hope the cleaning agents in it etc will help to keep the fancy expensive injectors clean.

I use cheap stuff in my 535D because as I understand it.............

It's all a con and unless you use super super hi octane in a car that needs it, it makes no difference whatsoever wink

Why doesn't it acually?

Save your money and don't fall for the marketing hype. Cheapest diesel is just fine.

For what its worth: I tried Shell V-power for a few weeks in my e90 320d but feel that it runs better on the normal diesel.

When you look at it like that, you have a very fair point, sir. Will switch back for a few tanks and try make a better comparison! biggrin
