My girlfriend is only 5ft 3in and has difficulty seeing over the wiper arm on the passenger side of my 95 Chimaera. That arm has a bend at the end which only makes matters worse but if I was to fit a driver side straight arm then the end of the blade won't touch the screen. We've tried raising the seat, any other ideas?
ps, why is there more action on the pistonheads forum than on the tvrcc one?

Tony

Would she be offended if you bought her a cushion to sit on?

Re. point 1, this seems strange as my wife is 5'4" (on a good day) and has no problems on either the passenger side or in the drivers seat, is the foam in the seats partially collapsed?
Point 2, It's because Pistonhead's Gasisng Station has been around for a good few years now so most of us chat on TVR matters here. Also there is a TVRCC yahoogroups e-mail list so to be honest I think a third chat forum is unlikely to succeed. The TVRCC web sit eis under review currently so perhaps we will see some good things there soon? Rich...

Raise her seat by slipping some spacers under the runners. Just make sure it's secure and safe.

Alternatively ajust both wipers so they sit lower, I did this and they sit just above the rubber so they do not obstruct any view.

So are you going to tell us how? This problem looks to be much worse on a Cerbera FWIW

On a similar note, I have a problem with my drivers side wiper hitting the base of the windscreen when its on full speed.
Its fine on all other speeds, just on full speed wipe.

It makes one hell of a noise and I'm sure it can't be good for it.

Any ideas ohow to fix.

cheers

Phil

Thanks for all the advice but,the seat has spacers underneath already, the wiper blade touches the screen rubber at its "inner?" end but sits high at the outer end because of the crank in the arm. Can't therefore lower it any further. Looks like its either buy her a periscope or find a taller girl! (Don't tell her i said that!) Just thought there may have been a different wiper that would fit. Any one else had this problem? You're all correct about this Forum there seems to be a better/friendlier class of folk around here. Used to read the 4Car forum for a while but i think that there were too many Max Power readers contributing or rabbiting on about nothing much.

My girlfriend is 5'6" and she has trouble seeing past the wiper arm because it parks halfway up the screen. Can anyone tell me how to adjust this?

My girlfriend is 5'8". She has no trouble seeing over the windscreen wipers and no trouble reaching the pedals. This means she is able to drive the TVR whenever she likes and relegate me to the passenger seat.

What can I do about this?

Ok, if you lift up the little cap where the wiper arm is attached there should be a little nut I think 8 or 10mm, losen this and you can lift the wiper up slightly and then postion it where you would like it to park, Tighten it back up again and bingo your wipers sit lower down, not half way up the screen, make sure that you don't put them too low or as stated earlier on full speed they will clip the bottom of the window rubber, hope this helps.
