Post Cerbera ownership update
Discussion
Well the P1 is going well.
In for a service today. Actually quite expensive - about £450 I think. BUT nothing else needed doing. Wow !! That is easy not like a TVR! Just the service and no extras.
I hear that 25% of P1 engines have gone pop due to oil starvation !!! They have a design issue! So maybe things are like TVR ?!? Sounds like we are too hard on TVR - if a Japanese company have the same problems (if not worse).
P1 feels so much faster than the cerb on B roads.
Feels so much slower on A roads.
The comfort and ease of my regular 4.45 am journeys to the airport and late evening returns is so much better in the P1.
But I miss the sexiness of the Cerb. The P1 just feels oiky.
Must pop down to APM and sniff a cerbera.

I have gone the other way (ooh er!) and just come out of a Mitsubishi Evo VI into a cerb. The first thing that struck me was that I now have to find a different set of roads to drive on. The twisty B road stuff that the Evo lapped up is not where the cerb is at its best.
That said I am looking forward to cerb ownership and the awesome sweeping roads on the way to Le Mans in June
Still it sounds like my servicing experiences will be about the same in the cerb as the Evo - with 4.5k/6 mnth service intervals plus lots of worn out bits the Evo was a little on the costly side.

yes ok i have to admit it ive bought a impreza sti ppp.
i still haven't decided if i like it yet but ill give it a fair chance.
i looked at allsorts of stuff, lotus esprit v8,ferrari 348 and of course tvr,a tuscan would have been great but i was too scared of the engine, nuff said.
so the scooby got a chance, its plenty quick with a full 305 bhp/300 lb/ft but it aint no tvr.
mike.

The only engine problems I've heard have been from people that extensively use their cars on track, and experience fuel starvation from high-G right hand corners. (big bangs)
I did >93k miles in my Impreza with only one problem (rear diff started to leak a few drops -- oil seal had gone). No engine problems at all.
I saw the Warranty Direct survey that said "Imprezas most unreliable" and the first thing I thought is "that's because WD don't do warranties on TVRs"

Mate of mine has an evo FQ 300 with a couple of mild mods and I have to say its a fantastic car.
Wouldnt swap mind (mines still a fair bit quicker!!) but its an incredible machine for corners and the confidence it inspires even in the most reserved of drivers (like myself
is amazing.
In short, after 9 months of owning my cerbera its still the one in charge. 5 mins after getting behind the wheel of the EVO and I was happily ringing its neck and it still felt completely planted.
I think I need both

Well done Gazzab, you are the proud owner of one of the finest cars aver made (P1).
I had two scoobys, one UK2000 (when there was still a 9 month waiting list!) then the P1.
Awesome performance that spanks most things on the road (well, up to 100mph which is where it counts)
You can now look forward to total reliability, no glitches, great performance etc.
I presume you are aware of www.scoobynet.co.uk ?
Below is my list of recommended upgrades
1. Bump Steer Mod at Powerstation in Cheltenham
2. Eibach Spring kit
3. Prodrive brake upgrade (a must)
4. 18s
5. ECUTEK remap (£700 from power engineering)
6. Pimp Tints
7. Full ScoobySport exhaust
8. Green panel air filter.
Wish i still had mine.....
