Browsing through ebay and it is really starting to piss me off the amount of morons who can't even tick the right type of gearbox in the listing!

For fk sake, it's not difficult! Most of the offenders seem to be traders too, doesn't fill you with confidence about the ad does it!

Oh, and those shower of bds that insist on putting 80 miles instead of 80,000. Stop wasting my bloody time!!!! I should be working right now anyway, not sifting through the high mile auto box st I don't fking want!!!!!!

Other turn-offs in adverts include (and usually in CAPS in annoying colours and fonts) :

First to see will buy. (means, first person to drive 180 miles to discover rotbox will leave empty handed).
Only selling due to new car. (means, bought new car as this one is knackered).
Selling for a friend. (who is in jail/dead/unaware the car is being sold).
£1000000 of modifications. (has K&N airfilter.)
Might swap for [insert something 3 times the value of car for sale] (means, I'm deluded)
Sale due to ban. (means, I drive like a and probably am a ).
Just needs finishing (means, just need full restoration, which probably means scrapping)
No Tax or MOT (means, prob knackered as I know how much work is required for MOT)
1.2 on logbook, up to new owner to change (means, my insurers don't know and/or I'm 18 and/or I'm driving illegally)
Use of the word brought instead of bought.
Rare (usually applied to a Ford, Vauxhall etc).
No messers (what is a 'messer' anyway ?)

I could go on, but can't be arsed. smile

ETA - I wouldn't buy a car from a Trader who can't be arsed to spellcheck their ad either. Rough cars and rough people generally go together...

You're forgetting the classic 'Owned it 3 months now and just fancy a change' meaning: it was fked when I bought it off someone, now I'm going to try and offload it on to you.

And ads with a complete lack of punctuation!

How do these people earn enough money to buy a car in the first place if they can't bloody write?!

A chap from the owners club once travelled hundreds of miles to a dealership only to find the 2.0 16v SEAT Ibiza Cupra advertised was lacking a few valves, eight in fact.

Oh, another - "only 190'000 miles, barely run in" that one really annoys me.
Usually touted around on here by German car fan boys.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it annoying when there is no mention of the cars mileage shown in the listing. I personally think that this is one of the things that most buyers look for. Very irritating to have to email for this info. Why do so many advertisers omit this?

If miles are not put in, its 99% of time means high mileage too.

And why create a listing, if you're not going to answer any questions asked?! Just ignore you. You do want to sell it or not?!

'Selling for a friend'

actually means -

'Its suddenly dawned on me how spectacularly embarassing my bad-boy euro-styled Fiat Punto is, bought from my mum, and only crashed twice, and now with no MOT'.
