Any advice on best place to go for paintwork repair in the north east?
Someone kindly scuffed their front bumper along my 1 month old V8V front corner/bonnet/lower panel this morning. Just calming down now. Fortunately it is going on their insurance but still lots of hassle.
No dents and may just be the clear coat but I fear some paint may be needed. Stratstone Tyne & Wear is the nearest dealer but not sure they have bodyshop. Options may be Aston Workshops at Beamish or JCT600 Leeds.
Any experience?
Chris

The two that I would be happy to take my car are either Bill Heaney now at Tyne Tunnel industrial estate. They do all the Porsche, BMW and Merc work, or Aston workshops of Beamish.

Cheers,
Ian

Stratstone have a body shop based somewhere near Birmingham for there Aston appoved repairs, i know that with warranty work they have come and collect on a transporter and delivered back the sameway, this probably applies to insurance work as well. Who ever you do use would recommend that the body shop is AM approved as you have paint warranty to consider.

cheers

Hi,
With regard to your paintwork issue on your V8 Vantage, Stratstone have a bodyshop which is fully approved by Aston Martin on Tyneside and would therfor retain its paintwork warranty.
They can be contacted on 0191 4954300

There seems to be an indication that if you do not use the Approved bodyshops then it will effect or cancel the 10 year paintwork corrosion warranty, This is not the case, using non approved parts or repair techniques WILL effect the warranty as can not taking general care of the bodywork, so as long as Aston martin guidelines are followed the choice as always is with the consumer, So basically it is the standard of repair which the accredited Aston Martin Bodyshops have proved the level of service, This is not to say that a non Aston approved bodyshop would offer a substandard level of repair or repair that would not meet or exceed the standards set,
