why would you bother getting a coach etc? just go in a convoy of super cars! much more fun!

and besides, 1,200 miles is hardly a marathon of a journey is it. you could drive it in 2 days no worries! or, if you went with someone, share the driving it would take you no time.

I'd guess it would be a mixture of insurance (supposedly they also aren't allowed a kick around in the park incase they injure themselves) and club policy.

Took the coach because the player has to be thoroughly rested before the game. To go by car, even though they know they would be fine, then perform badly on the pitch the player would be ripped to shreds for their selfish behaviour and putting the team second blah blah blah............. IMO
