Monthly insurance ??
Discussion
Right, my car will probably need to be put up for sale within the next couple of weeks, but the insurance runs out at the end of April. So what I need to know is does anyone know of a place that can insure the car on a month by month basis so once she is sold I won't loose a years premium
quote:
You gonna sell it immediately ??? !!!
Why ?
I think she will need the suspension sorted out (front) before I can sell her
Does anyone know of any companies that allow a good return premium for cancelling cause I probably won't be getting another TVR right now.

Explain the situation to your insurance company and ask them if they will issue you with a temporary cover note for the car. I had the same problem and my insurance co. (Norwich Union Direct) offered me temporary cover for up to 1 month at little additional cost. This is better than paying an annual premium and then seeking a refund because you will lose at least 20% - For some reason insurance companies front load the cost of insurance i.e it costs more to insure a car at the start than at the end of the year.
Am I being thick here (and there is a fair chance) but I assume you have another car?? therfore can't you drive the TVR on that policy once your existing one runs out in the short term?
You'll get a statment of your NCB along with the renewal statement, that you can use in future too I would assume..?
Cheers
Matt.
PS sorry for the inane "sell immediately" comment, I was just thinking if you shifted in the next 4 weeks you wouldn't have a problem..

I've just been sorting out insurances on my three!!
I've put my Spitfire on a very basic cover for 3 months.
That is a classic policy with Lancaster and that is costing me £85, there is no no claims on that though.
The other way of doing it is as mentioned above, cancelling the DD when you sell your car.
Does this now mean I will be the only TVR driver in Langdon Hills
