Registering car in UK, from europe. No V5?
Discussion
Hi. I need some advise.
I have a special car that has been damaged in France. Infact, the damage was, it got flooded with seawater just above the floor, and only for 6 hours.
The car is a Lotus Elise 160 sport with only 9000 miles on the clock.
The insurance companies just wrote the car off along with 4000 other cars that got damaged along the west coast of France on the 28th Feb.
Here's the problem. I have bought back the car and have no V5. How can I register the car back in the UK?
I see on the VOSA sites, that if it is not on the VIC register, I can't have a VIC test?!
I know of the SVA scheme but is this the only way? I would prefer to just register it and have it done as a Cat D.
Any help would be useful. I only have a number for the VOSA and I can't even get throught from abroad.
Thanks
