Hi All,
I had an annoying prang with my DB9 whereby the front bumper has a big dent in it and basicaaly needs replacing. Stratsone have quoted me £3,300 for the job incl VAT. Does that sound about right or could I find a better deal elsewhere? Do I have to have it repaired at a AM dealer? If anyone has any alternative suggestions that would be great (I am based in West London). Cheers.

If you are in West London try HWM in Walton on Thames. I had my bonnet re-sprayed by them and that was just fine.

why not just buy a new one on e bay...have seen loads on there....get it sprayed at any decent body shop....they would also fit it for you...for a lot less than 3k..!!!!

Most of the ebay ones will have cosmetic damage, though the company that I deal with has had some half decent bits (so far Ive had 3 wings, 3 headlamps and front and rear bumpers).
Biggest stumbling block will be getting the correct paint code - unless you have it or have a good relationship with someone in an AM dealer.. Plus the chances of the colour matching exactly will be small, the colour would probably have to go up the front of the wings, hence the £3k charge.

the paint code can be found on the car it is the same for all the vh chassis cars, open the bonnet remove the large cover at the front of the car between the headlamps covering the radiator held on with t30 bolts, there will be a sticker underneath here with the paint code and colour,

You need a good bodyshop as the "blending in" can be difficult - especially if it is a metallic flaky colour. I had my bonnet resprayed under warranty and they had to do some of the wings as well.

That sound alot for just a bumper , have stratstone looked at it , as that sounds more than just a bumper to me.

If you can take some decent pic's , i can get a Aston Martin approved bodyshop quote, as well as a very good bodyshop quote which i use alot.
