There were indeed people onboard. A freak wave took out a window on the bridge, and the water shorted the electrical system and took out all but one engine.

Surprisingly, none of the passengers were injured, and only two crew members suffered injuries, which weren't serious.

they have to retract them in rough weather or they break off.
