So I recently stepped into the big, bad, expensive world of them "L" series lens and bought a 70-200mm f4 for a couple of jobs ive got coming up.

However...mad

I hate the bloody plant pot of a lens hood that is the genuine Canon one. So, does anyone now if I could use the 2.8's petal style hood? I know the 2.8 has a larger filter thread then f4 but would the hood still fit, can you get step down rings for hoods....

Or am I just being a wolly and should put up with it!!!!! nono

Anyway here is my preshus.

Not just me then, ive looked on ebay for 67mm petal hoods but the only ones the search brings up is some flimsy arse cheap things.

Saw this on your Flickr smile

I bought the same lens second hand about 2 months ago. Love it, although keep forgetting to take my hood with me!

Can I ask where you bought it from? Almost all the places that i've been looking either have them for well over £1k or don't have them in stock for another 3-4 weeks.

You mean the lens I take it Rich?

This is the non IS version I got from Talkphotogaphy.co.uk forums for sale section.

Its a really good site, although its costing me alot of money as I keep buying things off it.
