First of all apologies if this has been asked before (which i imagine it has)

I have always wondered if throttle bodies run without air filters?

Simple little question really

Look forward to a response,
Dan

I ran the throttle bodies on my 205 race car for 2 seasons without an air filter, did give me (sound) drive by issues at Castle Combe though

A TB is a TB, presume you mixing up a stock factory EFI setup that usually uses 1 or 2 TB's with an aftermarket setup with a TB per cylinder??

You can run anything without an air filter, but why bother? Flow tests say most standard paper air filters can flow airflow enough to supply 500bhp n/a, so no filters just means more engine wear and risk of something large like a leaf, stone or small child getting into the engine.
