+1It's too late/early for some of the alternatives. I can see the lily resemblance but don't think they are strong enough looking - plus he said they weren't there last year, willowherb are great at colonizing new ground while lily are pretty crap.

Deffo not Lilly - so Willowherb it is then as they spread underground and generally away from where they started. There is a white variety called Epilobium angustifolium Album which is commercially available as a garden perennial which is notorious for moving from the spot where it was first planted.
