Iceland to England ??
Discussion
Does anyone know how the air-freight systems are operating since airspace was re-opened.., last Monday I had an order of stuff sent from Reykjavic to the UK, apparently they dont have a tracking number for the item.
It was posted through the Icelandic postal system.., the company that sent it have e-mailed me tonight to see if it,s arrived.
Typical really., I,ve never in my life had any dealings with anywhere in Iceland.., and the parts I need could only be sourced there..., then a bloody great volcano decides to erupt.., very inconsiderate !
Anyway, if anyone has any advice, it would be appreciated.

When ours opened, I believe theirs closed although I believe some flights are now coming out of Akureyri. www.icenews.is is generally a good source of info.

....yeah, I read that JQ.., the parcel went for despatch on Mon., and I think there were flights taking off from late Tues night early Wed morn, so was hoping it might be at least this side of the pond.., I was thinking obviously people first, freight second..., but dare-say people and freight ?Anyway, here,s hoping
It may have been held up in customs - they are in a different league to the UK. We regularly get parcels returned or held up for a week or 2. However they are parcels going into Iceland, coming out they seem to be more efficient, but it's not unheard of. We exported a TVR there a few years ago and customs held it for 6 weeks for no reason - it's still the only TVR in the country.
