Engine hoist - which one do you guys use?

This car is starting to get on my TTs

I've had most of the electrical gremlins mentioned on the forum, burned out wires, corroded connectors, rusty chassis, leaking rack, cracked this and that.....the list is endless.
Today the water pump has started to leak, I've done a search and find the engine has to come out (unless anyone knows different )

So.. which engine hoist would you recommend ?

I understand you need the long reach variety, how long is long reach? Would this one do the job?

I'll try to measure mine over the next couple of days. It took my AJP out with no problems. Can't remember what it is, possibly a Clarke one? I bought it for £100 used 10 years ago!

I used a Sealey 2 tonne crane. But did disconnect the gearbox first to make it easier.
Although it did go back in with the box bolted on afterwards, with a 2nd person. I take it you're hiring one?

Initially I looked at hiring a hoist, as the Cerb is a lifer I'm guessing a purchase is probably the way to go

The Sealey was my choice, I didn't know whether the 1 ton would be man enough, it says in the spec it can lift 250KG at maximum extension and I'm guessing this may be close to how much the Cerb engine and box weights ?

Rufus - I recently bought two, as soon as I can find the details I'll email you. Don't get that Sealey one, the ones I bought easily lifted out the engine and gearbox and were a lot cheaper.
