Will the X-Type be replaced?

Just been browsing the Jaguar website & can't help feel the X-Type looks a bit out of place next to the new lineup. Will Jaguar replace it with a mini-XF, or will they pull out of the 3 series segment once it's run it's course? It can't be much cheaper to make a car for that segment than it is for a 5-series rival, but the sale price is greatly reduced. Will they stick with volume production?

IMO the X type looked great when it came out but didn't age well.

I couldn't imagine putting my hard earned into one.

Christ wasn't it built on the mondeo platform that hasn't been produced for 2 years(ish)?

I heard that they had no plans to replace it, but I could be talking crap. Someone come along and confirm this!
