ECU diagnosis in S Wales - bad idle and jerky

Hi,

looking for ECU diagnostics in S Wales that ISN'T main dealer for 98 R 4.0l. Car has high idle at startup from cold (2,200rpm) and is very difficult in traffic to drive smoothly - shunting/jerky rpm control. Stepper motor cleaned and idle valve adjusted. No joy so far. Looking for a bloke with diagnositcs equipment and common sense. Anyone used T/as Motorsport in Ross-on-Wye? (as found in PistonHeads links page)

This sounds familiar!
I have exactly this problem and am also in South Wales.
Have found a garage that deals mainly with Land Rovers but who are very helpful, and have the 10,000 pound ECU diagnosis equipment - they're based near Cardiff.
Put mine on their kit and found a stepper motor fault but am still having problems after fixing that.
Let me know if you sort your car out and with who.
