Hi guys,

Me and the girlfirned are currently sitting in our apartment in Barcalona having a think about where to eat tonight.

Are there any areas that have a lot of restaurants etc close together?

Any help would be greatly apprecaited. smile

I can't remember the name but there is a cracking tapas place near Barceloneta beach. It is the far side of the marina area, down a side street off the main strip. Have a search on www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree as there is a map and details on there. Great food!

No question, the best restaurant in Barcelona is Siete Puertas. Go to:
www.7portes.com
I'm not big on paella, but you really have to try their seafood paella special. It's epic. The atmosphere is fabulous, the service outstanding and the food brilliant. It's the oldest restaurant in Barcelona and an absolute "must do" when in the city.

Another must is Pitins Bar in the Born district of Barcelona. It's the oldest bar in Born and has the absolute best cocktails in Barcelona. Ask Jose to mix you a Hendricks Gin & Tonic, with the cucumber slice. It's about 8EUR but it is memorable (as long as you don't do more than 3, very strong measures and well worth the price). Have fun!

When I was there any of the piazza' off la ramblas, or even the correct spelling, were pretty good. Might have struck lucky but I enjoyed it. And the beer.

I was there a month ago. Four places stick in the memory,

www.tapioles53.com (must book!)
www.pacomeralgo.com (get there at opening time for a seat at the bar)
www.barcelona.com/barcelona_directory/restaurants/... (might have to wait)
www.hofmann-bcn.com/en (go for lunch and get the lunch menu, it is INCREDIBLE value)
