So where do i start i have a new focus rs in blue had it for about a month or so now and by far the greatest car i have ever had. And the first iv really had an attachment too. Every time i go out it brings a smile to my face but today it gave some one else a huge grin.

Ok so i had a call from a friend last night saying he knew a lad who loves the new focus rs's and woundered if i would be able to take him out for a spin round the block and allow him to have a sit in it that sought of thing. The plan was to meet at a car park near the lads house to make him think he was helping my mate take some pics of his car. but infact he ould be going out for a spin in my rs.

Anyway this mourning the surprise was unveiled to the lad and he was bassically stunned into silence which apparently is a rare thing.

i let him go round the car and sit in the drivers seat and stuff and when it came to going out for a spin i let him push the start button. To which he got the biggest grin as the car started up.

so i took him for a spin around the local area and there was a silence i was thinking is he ok and alike and asked him to which he replied yeah im fine.i could see his grin getting bigger and bigger as we drove along the twisty lanes.

and when we pulled back up at the carpark from where we had left he said that was the greatest 10 or so mins of his life.
hes only about 13 but just makeing someone else that happy was a great feeling and has made my day.

Has any body else had this sought of experence and whats the story behind it. smile

Nice to know there are some decent people about! Strangely I don't have a queue of people wanting a ride in my Puma!

He is probably going to bore his mates to death with that story for months now, I know I would of!

Nice choice of car BTW, I can't help but feel all happy inside when I see one!

Me! Also if anyone wants to take me for a spin in a Ferrari F355, I'd be most happy! I'll return the favour by taking you out for a spin in my Van!

I may have to take you up on that!

I love making people happy. Some local kids were going round washing cars for a few quid, and seeing as mine was pretty dirty I let them wash mine. As I was paying them they commented what a lovely car etc, looks good and so on. Asked them if they wanted a spin and I got the biggest grin back. When I floored it on a straight bit of road they loved it - hopefully given a few years they'll be on here! (they did ask what the smiley face on the back was, I said it was PH, car forum, best place in the world etc).

So yes. If anybody wants a spin in an Impreza STi, I'm game!

I've got a few cousins that are aged around 16-19 and whilst enjoying cars, are not in the position to buy or insure anything fast or even remotely exciting. I always enjoy taking them for a run in what ever I've got and they love it too. Years ago I used to pick one of them up from his Saturday job as a favour to my Aunt, always took the Evo and he used to just sit there silent but grinning!

couple of years ago, i had a nissan 300zx tt which was in excellent nick, and a couple of lads knocked my door and asked if i would take them the their prom in it. i agreed, and the same night one of the dads came and asked was i sure and they were cheeky to have asked, i took them all in 2 trips and they were made up. it was a great feeling for myself, and even nicer that they were impressed by a not such flash car

Fair play mate, i'd do the same. There are far too many people with nice cars who wouldn't.I guess you have to be a true Petrolhead to understand.

Yep, do the same thing fairly often. Sometimes in the MX5, sometimes the GTB. Its helps you realise how privileged most of us on PH really are when it comes to cars if you can share some of that fun with others.

hehe

PS The old MX5 on gravel was quite an experience for some people!

I'm ringing the police. Such willingness to take young boys for "test drives" you must be a Paedophile...

wink

Seriously, I had a grin on my face reading that story, nice one smile.

When I had my MGB (stripped out and tuned), I was in Ullapool and had parked her up when an old guy came over and started to talk to me about it. Turns out he used to race MG TD's and had an Jensen CV8 in his garage. I took him for a spin and he loved it. He told me he had never been in an MG that was so quick. He then directed me back to his house (his wife and my wife still standing in the street) and let me drive the Jensen.

Still want one now and that was '93.
