Has anyone tried Piloti shoes?

My trusty Porsche Design driving shoes are beginning to wear out (on the right side of the right shoe where I toe and heel) and I had a look at Pilotis.

I need the shoes for everyday wear, naturally with my job I am in and out of quick cars but want something a lot more subtle than race boots. I normally wear smart jeans with a decent shirt and suit jacket.

What do we think? Would something like this look OK?

Either the Muroc or Laguna in brown.

Also I've been having a spot of trouble with my left ankle since I twanged my Achilles whilst fencing, I wondered if the higher leg of the Muroc might help?

There are only a couple of places where you can try them on in the UK. Glad I did though. A visit to Grand Prix Legends confirmed that my feet are too wide for Pilotis frown shame

Was at Russell Patterson Motorsport (RPM) the Morgan dealers in Perth and they have recently become Piloti Agents. Had quite a few different varieties and they looked damn good. Didnt try any on mind smile

Russell spoke highly of them (he would wouldn't he etc) but the agency came from him buying himself 5/6 pairs at the NEC sportscar show. "I liked the product so much I took on the agency..." Not quite Remington but you get the gist.

I've got a pair of Prototipo - Blue / White, very good not as much feel as the racing boots but still very good, wouldn't like to drive the Cerbera without them. They look ok as everyday footwear as well and I've had mine on all day today and they feel like slippers.

I found them to be. I am a size 11 and tried on a few pairs in the US a few weeks ago. found them not to fit well or look as good once on your feet

which is a shame as I like them

The american sizes are one up from us though, is that right, ie 9uk would be 10US ?

Just checked and according to Piloti's size chart a 9.5US is a 9UK ?
................I'm confused now ?! confused

I really do like the Piloti range - and have many times been close to buying them. They are, by their very design, more narrow than a regular shoe. Almost speedcat like. I've still not bought a pair but think they work very well in appearing smart (and therefore able to wear with trousers/shirt) but still being able to drive sports cars.

Can someone from the PH shop comment if they see this thread, what's the deal with returns if they really don't fit?

Which is exactly what I need in my job.

I've fired off an enquiry to the PH shop to ask what happens if they don't fit when I receive them, hopefully I can get a pair bought today.

Can you update this thread when you hear back / when you get them etc?

A reply from the PH Shop re ordering Pilotis online.

Hi Mark,

Of course if you get the wrong size shoes there will be no problem with exchanging them, as long as they havent been used in action.

Dave.

Are these shoes to be used in your line of work or just for trackdays and the like?

ETA. Sorry just looked at your profile. It's completely obvious now why you need them.
