Some Asda stores are going to be selling 'Wagyu' beef.

Anyone know where this beef is sourced and whether it's worth trying?

After looking into it, it seems to be a hybrid Wagyu/Holstein, because "many health-conscious Britons might have found the fatty and marbled pure wagyu beef offputting" rolleyes

I've had pure Wagyu in Japan but I don't want to experience disappointment, which I fear will be the case if I try some of this.

Asda have just started selling it today. It was in the Telegraph magazine page 59. Starts at £16.62/kg, I'm off to buy some later. It's only at the big stores though.

You may now abuse me for shopping at asda.

Do you find yourself slapping your back pocket when you leave the checkout? smile

I tried that on one of the checkout wenches. Hence why I'm now banned from my local one frown
