"Garaged for over 22 years" Sierra Cosworth

I was reading this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1644288.htm ad for a very tasty looking Sierra RS Cosworth, and saw "Garaged for over 22 years", i thought; wow, I keep reading, 'one owner for 20 years', still thinking, "nice!" , so i checked the price and thought £9,695, seems very cheap for such a closeted beast.

I carry on reading the ad to the mileage "Truly Genuine Mileage of 108,000". Now i'm thinking WTF!, Is it just me who thought "garaged for 22 years" basically meant it had been left in a ventilated car tent in a garage and VERY rarely allowed out to play?! As for the "truely genuine", haha, surely not! a genuine 108,000 miles, this couldn't have happened without clocking surely?! 108,000 miles over 23 years equates to just under 4,700 miles a year. Its not alot, but its the same as any housewive covers in a year. Compare this to beauty also currently for sale http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1591850.htm. Now that's a mileage worthy of the exuberant accolade "Truly Genuine Mileage" bestowed upon it!

The original ad continues to claim "Timewarp Condition. Uncracked Dashboard, Recaro Seats are not worn or sagging, headlining is again, immaculate with no wear or sagging, Carpet is clean and unworn" How does this happen after 108,000 miles without being replaced for new parts?

I'm left feeling confused and a little angry after reading that ad, please tell me if i'm being weird

Seems to be a clean enough looking car for 108k.
Personally i'd rather the black one over the 500,a car that someone else has fked about with so much just doesn't appeal to me.
Are you serious about buying one or do you,like me,just dream?

It does look extremely clean for 108k, I've got a 106k mini (91 reg) which has been garaged for years and it still looks complete ste (because it is). The two owners made me laugh, its 2 owners before the current owner, that makes three owners unless the current owner hasn't registered the purchase. It does look very clean though which suggests a detailed prep or the mileage isnt 108k. The RS500 in the second link has been blinged so hard to compare to the 1st example.

4700 (dry) miles per year in 23 years isn't so bad though for a summer use car and could mean a good clean brings it up to standard. Bit of a waste of a decent car though IMHO

Cant see the problem with the ad myself TBH. Just looks a clean, honest cossy at a fair price.

I had some truely dire company cars, but with 150k on the clock the interior looked as fresh as the day it left the factory. Those cars were Renaults, too. Basic Mk1 Clio with 150k on the clock, interior was immaculate, same with a Mk1 Laguna, 135k and interior was immaculate.

... it is, on first glance, a very clean, unmodified 2 door Cosworth. There can't be many of those left?
If I lived in the UK, I would go and take a look at that car with a view to buying.
Only 2 2 doors that are for sale within 350 miles of me are both complete dogs. Standard, but very untidy.
