Don't think there will ever be another opportunity to get a 48hr EU rental on a brand new car for just £1!

We have some cars that need to get home. And they’re going at just £1 for each one-way rental. Plus you’ll not be charged for an additional driver and if you’re between 21 and 25, we’ve also waived the fees for young drivers. Rates exclude petrol, toll charges, congestion charges, fines for traffic and other such offences and non-waivable excess.

Wow, that might be a fun way to spend a weekend. Assuming Mt. Unpronounceable doesn't scupper the flight back!
You could just get another rental back.To clarify, you basically just pay for fuel and ferry? Is this due to the volcano, that Hertz have cars all over the place?
I was wondering how the hire car companies were going to deal with the fact that all cars in Europe were either in Calais or the UK. A novel way of doing it!
A one way ferry ticket could be had for about £19 probably.
Some interesting cars there, (relatively, anyway!) but bagsy not driving the 800cc Matiz!

I think they only need to get to the country as I believe each country is sort of run as a franchise (i.e. the cars need to get back to their country, not to their individual location)...I think!!
I wouldn't mind doing it, it is just a fair bit of time. Maybe if they paid fuel too or something...but then again if you had to go to the continent, would be a good plan.
Cheers

I wonder how much the poor renter got charged for dropping off in another country. Years ago hertz charged me £80 for dropping off on the Swiss side of Geneva airport rather than the french side!
I heard some rental companies were charging around €1000 if you dropped it in Calais recently. Hertz seem to be one of the good guys.Edited by ShadownINja on Sunday 25th April 22:58
