...is this Friday 30th, 9pm - 1am on Calton Hill.

Lots of fire, drums, and semi-naked hippies (except me, thankfully).

Tickets available from The Hub, Ripping Records and the Forest Cafe on Bristo Place.

http://www.beltane.org

(oh, and it's non-profit - the tickets are to manage numbers and cover overheads. Everyone involved is a volunteer )

Ill be along again this year. Graham, whats the deal with selling things ie- torch candles. Last year they were in very short supply. I assume traders have to be registered to the event? May bring a few extra.....whistle

hehe Taken by a friend of mine. I took No 2 in the 2007 series on the BBC : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/6610507.stm

They appear to have removed the 2009 series where I had a few more frown (I wasn't around for 08).

But this year, I'm putting the camera down and performing biggrin

Eliot - I would suspect there is a trader registration thing, particularly given the need to get a vehicle up to the top of the hill. I can ask if you like? Or I can pretend you didn't mention it wink

Howdy Graham

Aye, I saw you! I was quite tempted to yell "famous Graham!" but thought the better of it hehe

Having been to Samhuinn a few times now, this was my first Beltane. You guys to put on a fantastic show, and there was clearly a tremendous amount of effort involved. Mind you, I really wasn't expecting the amount of spectators - there was a LOT of people there!

Did it go according to plan from your end?

Think so - it's all a bit of a blur to be honest biggrin When I've photographed it the last three years, it lasts as long as it's supposed to, ie a few hours. Performing this year, though (my first time), it seemed to be over in a flash biggrin
