I appear to have an intermittant boot opening mechanism. Have managed to open the boot today (after a time when the boot would just not open). I have taken off the catch and confirmed that the mechanical mechanism is detached and needs fixing however I can't work out how to remove (and possibly replace) the solenoid which seems to stop the release mechanism coming far enough out to fix. Can reach through the access hatch but got no idea of how to remove. Not got onto the boot for a good look - Yet !

Anyone done this and can share how to do it (email solution is prefered wink)?

the solenoid is held in place with two or three screws. They are visible from inside the boot. Once unscrewed the unit will pull out.

I also have an intermittent boot opening problem which strangely enough appears to have nothing to do with the boot mechanism. It seems that the door control boxes have some influence over the boot opening mechanism. It's bloody annoying though, especially when you're really low on fuel and I have to piss about opening and closing all the doors until it starts working! mad

Having removed the access panels on the inside and had a good feel around, I assume that they are only visible of you physically get into the boot. Will have another good look tonight.
