We've just got 2 ducklings to go down to our lake (when fully grown) to accompany the geese.
But i can't identify them, they're currently all black, black beak and a small yellow stripe under the beak/on their neck.

Any ideas?

Oh yeah, they're called Crispy and Peking biggrin

Those sound like African Man eating ducks, don't let them get too big.

I'm pretty sure they're trained ninja killer ducks yes

As for pics, i will go out shortly and get a photo, they're only 13 days old though.

As for the 2 suggestiones, i tried the RSPB bird finder and they're not on there.

The black swedish has too much yellow, think racing stripe.
and the common scoters bill is wrong, it's all black on ours.

The chap who incubated them did 2 Cayuga eggs and 2 others (i forget which, not normally black though) but when i read up on them it seems it's common for Cayugas to be black with a little yellow when ducklings and the others are far more yellow.

ETA. although i've known him all my life and i wouldn't be surprised if they turned out ot be emus or something equally odd.

The wife says, "Will they eat me whole?"

"Nah, they'll spit that bit out, they're man eating ducks!"
