Why isn't insurance going down? Young-ish driver
Discussion
For the first time since I'e started driving, my insurance renewal has gone up. More suprisingly, having gone through all the others websites etc, I can't find it anywhere cheaper- my renewal is the cheapest option.
I've gone from 22 to 23, and no claims have gone from 4 to 5 years. Apart from that all other details are the same. Car is a Alfa 147 2.0.
Quote is £516- last year it was £490.
Any guesses- or is that age increase/ NCB increase negligable now?

My friend was in a similar siutation with his renewel a few months ago, he's 25. His insurance actually went up by a couple of hundered pounds, and couldn't find it cheaper elsewhere.
He asked his insurance company why, and (although he lives in a nice area) they said that recently there have been a lot of break-ins and car crime in his area and that is what pushed his premium up.
