Haven't got a link, but I've just been past the factory. A car has crashed through the perimeter wall at the Castle Brom factory this morning. There is a whacking huge hole in the wall now and the driver was killed to death.

Apparently the car was being chased/perused/monitored by the police at the time, so no doubt it will be all their fault.

That made me think of our company, one of our blokes was killed in a work accident and on a memo the company sent out to us they said he was deadly injured.

That reminds me of when I was working out in Phoenix some time back in the 90s. In one week the local police where successfully sued in two cases, in one they had pursued someone suspected of stealing the car. The driver lost control and was killed, his family sued the police and won. In the same week another officer had decided that a pursuit was too dangerous and aborted. The car thief continued drive like he'd stolen it (which he had) he lost control and killed someone else. Their family successfully sued the police because they did continue the pursuit. Sometimes you just can't win.

Just out of interest, which building? I used to work at Castle Brom and know the site well.

It was the perimeter wall, on the roundabout forming the junction of the A47 Spine Road with the road into Gate 5(?), the goods recieving gate. The wall is right at the back of the lorry trailers, where they park up to allow the driver to go into Goods Recieivng.

When I saw the breach in the wall it looked just as though a lorry had reversed straight though it, but I though it was a big hole, even for a lorry. I was amazed to discover a car had done it. he must have been going at a hell of a speed, totally over optimistic if he thought he was going to get around the roundabout.

I'm afraid i don't know how to do an X-marks-the-spot, but it was at the centre of this pic, just left of where the shadow of the lampost meets the wall.

PS. I don't know when the satellite went over, but i've never seen cars stockpiled in the factory like that.
