My fiancee wants to buy me a gift to give me on our wedding day, something I can treasure for years to come as it were. She already got me a rather snazzy watch for my 30th last year so that's probably out. I can't think off the top of my head however what sort of other things are along these sort of lines for men.

I don't drink and I don't smoke so any of those sort of ideas are out.

Any suggestions?

(awaits typical PH responses before something sensible appears)

Another watch?

You can never have too many watches.

This. Which watch did she get you last year?

She got me a Tag Aquaracer Chronotimer which I find superb.

I commissioned a painting of our wedding venue by a local artist that my wife likes (we already had three of his paintings).

I presented it to her during the wedding breakfast. She knew nothing about it though - so it was a nice surprise for her.

How about a nice Carrera? A little classier and less in your face than the Aquaracer, ideal for a wedding gift wink

I would have said a framed picture of your car if you had something nice enough to warrant it!

I'd say some very nice cuff links if your cuff link guy, that way we're talking something discrete and possibly valuble (although not overly so) so that you'll think about your wedding day when your wearing them/puting them on.

Either that or a maybe another watch biggrin

I brought my husband a Tag Monaco and got the best man to give it to him just before he left for the venue.....

He brought me a beautiful diamond necklace.

I would have thought probably up to about a grand.

I have a feeling that unfortunately a Monaco doesn't quite fit in to that.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far though smile

It should be meaningful rather than conventionally valuable.

Stop right there.

-Characterise the extent of the snazziness.

Is 'rather' meant as an understatement, therefore meaning very snazzy indeed, or are you referring to moderate snazziness? -Amber if we were RAG scoring.

edit:

Have you considered Stratego?

I'm not entirely sure what captainzep is trying to get at, but my meaning was that I liked the watch very much.

This.

I am not after something necessarily valuable, more something special. I know people often suggesting things like drinking flasks etc but seeing as I don't drink it won't be of much value to me smile
