Hi,
My stepdad has decided that it is once again time to change car,
He has a bmw x5 4.4i sport.
He wants a convertible and im not sure which to try and convince him to get,
All he has towards the new car is this car and its a 2001 Y reg.
It had carphone, tv in motion, dsp and extra speakers, it also has the newer sat-nav, does anyone have any idea how much this would be worth as P.X and also i was thinking something along the lines of a 2002-2004 audi A4,
Bmw e46 convertible any engine!
Cheers
Steve

Depending on miles and condition it'll PX at around £6-8k if the values being offered for my colleagues X5 are anything to go by

Mate of mine bought a very nice Z3M for about £6k last year. Is he definitely after 4 seats or happy to go with 2?

How is he going to PX the X5 if he has no money to go towards the new replacement car ?

Can't see many dealers doing a straight swap, especially for a 4.4 gas guzzler ! Well, not unless he's going to bend over...

Surely he needs to sell it privately, and then go car shopping, or else put some money towards the new car.

and why oh why would you want to change car, if you've no idea what you want to change it to ! rolleyes

He's still looking,
I dont think 4 seats is a must as i dont live with my mum and dad and my brother is learning to drive, plus all four of my sisters and other brother have moved out smile

I think that may be a bit generous. I'd wager that he's being offered more like £4750 - £5500 for it. (There's a 2001/51 reg on 'trader with 59k asking £6950!)

Having that big petrol engine is a killer for a quick sale wink

Having just got rid of my 03/53 X5 4.4i I reckon you'll be looking at mid-£4k PX. Possibly less.

Ah, for some reason I read it as being a 2004 car.

2001 will be a lot lower, around the prices suggested. Highish miles for the type of car won't help either

I guess its still the same then,
Does anyone notice whenever its us selling something we have to let it go for pennies but whenever dealers or anyone like that is selling something its always top doller!!
The x5 cost us a pristine condition e39 M5 with tv, heated memory leather and all of that and 2000 quid, mental!

Back when petrol wasn't £1.20 a litre I assume, just like me. Oh well. It's all... err... good fun. I guess. wobble

Really?

Was it fked?

Or had it been to the moon and back. Twice.

Because that's reaaaallllly cheap!
That's what I thought! It's not the fastback M version, it's the convertible with the big engine in it and better suspension. But the guy wanted rid of it in a hurry (it IS legal, not that much of a hurry wink

My point was that if the bloke likes beemers and wants a convertible, he probably can't afford a Z4.

I dont think he cares what car it is, but then thinking about it its probably the petrol prices he cant handle, i was thinking a cheap audi a4 tdi,
My stepdad is kina crazy though he had a mercedes viano 2.2cdi with a company fuel card, Bit silly really i guess.
That mercedes was quite fun though he actually got it sideways,
I thought it would tip over smile
