Mesh in AFM....

Not posted on here for a while..........been a bit, er, busy.

Anyway, can the mesh in the AFM be removed and if so will it cause problems??
And any benefits (mine is slightly coming away). Griff500, btw!

I am sure I read somewhere that it helps stratify or laminate the airflow, could be total bks though

When I was running the Big Bosch' I removed both the mesh and the (somewhat crude) air guide. I did this to reduce restriction and there was no discernable ill effect. The 18" or so of straight ACT tubing preceding the AFM should have sorted out any bendy airflow. I guess there are other applications for these AFM's where the induction immediately before it are more convolute and the airflow is in need of a bit of guidance.

I removed mine (by accident while cleaning it!) and didn't notice any difference.

Cheers chaps......as it appears to be coming away anyway, think I`ll remove......have the ACT hose fitted!
