My car decided not to start a couple weeks ago so ive been busy trying to sort out software and pc that will work with it. finely got the pc online with the ecu friday and was turning it over when it actualy started. So i turned it off and fired it several times and it was all good so i took it for a drive and it seemed to be faultless. Now its not working again. Because ive got no idea what im doing the software doesnt really help. It might as well be in a foreign language. Has anyone got any experiance with the software and can point me in the right direction??? Can the the software tell me if there is a relay somewhere at fault or broken sensor??? Or do i physicaly have to check ??
Any help much appreciated Steve

Does the fuel pump prime when you put the ignition on?Any help much appreciated Steve
just a point, you do know that you have about 20 seconds or so from unlocking the car to start it before the immobiliser cuts in?
when i first got mine i remember opening it, hanging around a minute or so then wondering why it wouldnt start.....lol
just in case you are taking your time and its nothing more than immobilser doing its job...

No im sure its not the immobiliser And just to rub salt in my wound i managed to convince a local mech to come round to mine and take a look(to save the embarrassment of being towed). And the car started first time so he couldnt really help. This is gonna be one of those problems!when i first got mine i remember opening it, hanging around a minute or so then wondering why it wouldnt start.....lol

Mine did this! Would run fine then just die. Then would turn over, but just wouldn't fire. Leave it alone for a while and hey presto it worked again.
Turned out to be corrosion on the connector for the crank trigger/sensor. New one fitted and all OK now.
When it won't start, get something long and thin (bit of stud bar or a broom handle) and LIGHTLY tap the body of the connector/sensor. That's how we found my fault.
Hope this helps
Good luck!

Had one that would randomly die, sometimes would start again, sometimes wouldn't. Car ran great when it ran, and then would die. We were prepping the car for a track day - it ran without problems all day at the shop, and we drove it into the trailer. Next day at the track, it wouldn't start. Drove me crazy - finally tracked it down to an intermittent connection on the ECU's ground wire.
Is the starter motor actually turning the engine over? If not then check the relevant relay is working (should be able to hear/feel it click as you turn the ignition key - get a mate to help you unless you have 6ft long arms) and then check the wires to the starter.
I had a non-start problem (related here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ) I initially thought was water-related but traced to a broken starter trigger wire.
Hope you get it sorted quickly.
