Decat and flat spot !!
Discussion
I recently had my Tuscan 2 decatted.
I didnt have it rechipped and found it to be OK except for a "little" flat spot.
I decided to have the chip changed to sort that our but now I am seeing a larger flat spot very noticeable in 3rd gear betwee 2 and 3k revs.
Could this be a tuning issue or could it be a bad chip ?
It was checked in November and is in again for a 12k service now but just wondered what may be the cause.
Thanks,
Tony.

I have, after a period of doubt reagrding decats and chipping, decatted and chipped my Tuscan - it will be going back to standard as the engine does not work correctly without the back pressure.I didnt have it rechipped and found it to be OK except for a "little" flat spot.

Cant say i noticed a flat spot with a decat but i had the Throttle body problems to contend with, once i sorted those the car came alive.
I then had the decat chip from TVR Power fitted and Dom loaded a map on in front of me, suggesting it was a good map, though im not sure just how many he may have, it made a noticable difference, cant say i have detected a flat spot really, i dont tend to try and pull from low revs in 3rd though...normally drop a cog i think?

Maybe something beyond S spec works with different cam timing etc, in my case I'm conviced its a retrograde step. If Mr Beardy has been involved with yours, I'm sure all will be well.
