We are trying to organise a stag weekend for my friend in July. Pretty easy you might think!

1. Has to be in UK
2. We are all 30 plus
3. Don't want to end up in lap dancing clubs etc
4. Don't want to be surrounded by chav's / knobheads and get into fights
5. Just want a good lads holiday with plenty of ale

Any thoughts!?

How about Newquay? The weather will be nice in July and there's plenty of outdoor activties you could do.

Is there anything that kind of unites all your friends? All mates from the school soccer team? From the same degree course at uni?

Maybe think about the activity first, then the location...

That's what I'd do.

When you say "Lads Holiday" do you mean shots, cigarettes and skantily clad young women? Or a more sophisticated type of break?

Go to Scotland, climb Ben Nevis, have a BBQ, lots of beer etc etc etc. Good fun weekend.

We are all friends from school known each other 15 years plus a couple of his work mates etc.
Looked at Newquay as we all went there when we were 17, could be like a blast from the past sort of theme!
Newcastle is a good shout too!

Butlins !!!
It'll be perfect, i've been 3 times and its great.
All adults, from all age groups and classes but never seen any trouble.
I think its because people are staying on site and only people on site can go in the clubs.
There are 3 clubs on site, all included with some often good groups on.
Oh and the saturday night is fancy dress night and most do !!
There is only one on in July, Hot Summer party, we are doing that one in May and it's supposed to be one of the best.

Brilliant, we were considering Butlins but this is immense! Chesney Hawkes & Sash that would be hilarious!

For mine, we hired a massive cottage near the lakes within walking distance of a village with two decent local type pubs (think log fires and drying gun dogs)

We booked activities at the local outdoor centre which included muddy go karts, archery, clay pigeon shooting and we also took our mountain bikes so we could head off to nearby trails.

No lap dancing, no knob heads, no fighting, all good fun.

Hmm i guess you can get unlucky as with everywhere you go.
But for a trouble free weekend i don't think you can go wrong here.
This ticks all the OP's boxes.

Am going on a stag in two weeks time, weve hired 2 long boats (barge) to go on the canals in and around the Oxford area, not too sure what the best man has lined up but were also not looking for lap clubs or chav nights out either, will report back on how it went.

Anyone suggest any good places to stop on the way around Oxfordshire?

This would ideal, can you pass on any details?

Cheers

Newquay??? When he said they were 30 plus I took that to mean 30 plus years old, not 30 scool leavers. Newquay is a hell hole in the summer on a night out, full of stupid kids away from home for the first time.
