Ref the AeroMotive A1000 Regulator... being a numpty, I have never managed to grasp the identification of thread types, especially as there seems so many differing ones (metric/UNF/Scottish Bhuddist etc).

My reg came with a blanking plug inserted on the outlet side (to the rail), curiously all the other ports had a fitting adaptor for -6 already in place!

Although I know I need a -6 fitting I have no clue as to the threadsize I need to screw into the body (which seems roughly the same as a -6 male end)!

To prevent any chance of catastrophe caused by my stupidity - can someone tell me which fitting and thread sizes I need to buy?

Thanks

keith

A Google of that part number shows three ports all fitted with -6 male fittings.
The port in the side face that is blanked off is 1/8" NPT and is for fitting an analogue gauge or a sender.

It depends how you are defining "the side".

The port that comes out of the red part of the regulator (I would call that "the top") is the 1/8" NPT for a gauge - but note that if you are fitting an LS7 and you are sticking to the factory reccomended positions of the fuel system components, then you will have very little room above this fitting to attach anything.

The other three ports are all threaded -6 AN and should be fitted with male/male adapters (it sounds from what you say, that two already are - so you will need one more, I think)

The fitting at "3 o'clock" is the one that goes to the fuel rail, and like the others is -6 AN

You will need a right-angle female -6 AN fitting on the regulator end and a straight -6 AN female fitting on the fuel rail end - the overall length of this hose is approximately 420 mm (if you need to have one made up)

I hope that info helps.
Regards

Hi Keith

What you actually need are three -6 straight male O ring to -6 male fittings. The thread inside the reg is a -6 straight thread. It needs the O ring fiting to seal as there is no taper beyond the thread. If you fitted just a -6 male to -6 male adapter you would have a very serious fuel leak or worse.

Sorry, but people need to check there advise before giving it!

Please ask or mail me if you need any more info or part numbers if you need them. These are the adapters need from Aeromotive. O rings fit over the straight thread on the right.

Regards Dave
