Palmersport motorsport sensation 2010... WOW!
Discussion
I've done this day LOADS over the years (would do it every week if I could!) but I must say this years program is just AMAZING!!!!
I did it for first time this year on saturday and they really have raised the bar once again!!!!
The new M3 replaces the very boring and frustrating Jag XKR (terribly intrusive Traction control)
Your drives in the M3 and the awesome JP1 and Palmer Jaguar are all now all recorded. The Caterham pursuit thing is now a scoring and timed event. Other than that its much the same as last years event.... bloody amazing!
few pics from the day. I cant wait to get back there and do it all again soon!

I managed to win the two 'big boys' cars
Was well pleased with myself... sadly didnt win the overall trophy this time... mainly due to the fact I clowned around on the Caterham pursuit doing silly donuts as I didnt know it was scoring event this year! whoooops!
cant wait to get back and try and beat my times!

Would love to go on one of these, but they're furiously expensive - good value maybe, but the price of a decent holiday or several track days with all expenses paid.
One thing I'd like to know is how they get away with timing you and setting a leaderboard without you needing a competition license. If a motor club organised that it'd be National B Non-race minimum surely?

re the M3s - I don't knwo if they would be TOO bad a used buy.. the team they have to look after all the cars was incredible, and the parts warehouse is immense.. guess thats where a lot of your cash goes..
Word of warning - on the JP1s if you are at all tall push for a stick rather than paddle shift, as my knees kept knocking the down shift and the car cuts out, rather annoying at 80, mind you the instructor just re-starts mid corner and off you go..
all good fun mind you.. especially if you go in the rain

I've done several over the years, always a top day out.
Amusingly the last time I did it rubbish performances in the 911 and the Landy cost me the overall win... I own a Landy, and I race a 911
hahah, I've lost out on the overall day a few times because of falling off those dam logs in the Landrover! so annoying! I actually won it this time with a perfect 49 points though. What 911 do you race? the ones there are not the greatest to be honest with the Tip boxes are they.
