Staring out of my home office window from time to time over the last few weeks i have noticed a very high number of cars rolling by with their space saver tyres fitted. Equally, I've also noticed this strange phenomenon whilst out and about.

I'm not saying there's a connection wink but could it have something to do with the state of our much potholed highways and byways??

Has anyone noticed the same thing while out and about, or do i just have too much time on my hands?? scratchchin

Serves them right for buying cars with 40- and 35- profile tyres on 18" and 19" rims. Totally unsuitable for the excuses for roads in this country.

I have to say it's a whole mix of different cars, not just those with very low profile tyres.

Also, it's not neccessarily the owner that denotes what tyres are used but more the manufacturer. I run 245/40/18's on the Jag, that's what it came with and we've gone through 3 tyres in the last few months due to punctures and sidewall cuts from potholes.

It's getting to be an expensive business frown
