Rec is pretty darn good (or the US remake - scene for scene - Quarantine). Also, Orphan was OK (That ending!) and The Mist (Again, that ending!)

Rec is crap I wouldn't bother it IS NOT scary at all.

Maybe look at some of the Ring movies, american of jap.

to be fair there isn't that many properly scary films out there at the minute imo.

Orphan wasn't particularly good.

Agree with paranormal activity though, class film.

Rec / quarantine aren't that bad at all.

Descent / descent part two are canny, watch the first one first though.

Not sure if you can really call them horrors but I liked wolf creek and Eden lake, but then I'm quite twisted like that smile

oh and midnight meat train, cheesey and gory and worth a watch for me!

CREEP - its a few years old now but it messed my head up for a little while.

SAW - I think most people are familiar with these now too, I only watched the first one - that was quite enough thanks!

hu. I really liked it...I guess it depends on if you like that style of film; old-school Sam Rami, you know like the evil dead films. Not a horror in the modern day creepy/atmospheric way but scary in a 'things jumping out at you' and scenes that make you go eewww...and then laugh your ass off.

As for slightly less popular ones Wrong Turn isn't the worst film ever, and it does have some pretty girls in it, or Cabin Fever is good (although, again, it's a 'balls to the wall' horror, none of this creeping around in the dark nonsense). How about 28 days later? oh, and I liked the remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, too....and skeleton key.

Tbh i am not the biggest fan of Horror films - but once in a while get that urge to ste the life out of myself. I agree Wolf Creek was a good watch. Have recently watched 'Coffin Rock' and 'The Hitcher' - these are worth a try.

Oh, and anything with a 12 year old girl with long straggly black hair, blood shot eyes and a Primark over-sized jumper, suddenly appearing into car headlights - this always freaks me out yikes

Was OK, more a horror in a daily mail sense. My mrs hated it.

A recent horror movie i saw was 'the box', which wasn't bad.

I thought 'the box' was a bit crap to be honest. 'Martyr' is French, but very good, I thought.
