I was zapped by a car of BIB's last week (radar detector went off). I slowed immediately but may have not been fast enough to slow down and have been watching the mail box since.

They were in a car by the side of the road (A3 heading South) - do they need to stop you and give you a ticket on the spot or does the gun take a piccy that they send you through the mail?

They won't send you a piccy automatically. They have 14 days to send a NIP to the RK.

May have decided not to prosecute, depends how speedy you were.....

Reckon 10% + 2 mph and throw a bit of discretion in for good measure.

What.... you mean some humans, making a judgement? Surely this went out with the ark?

can't he get that overturned - or do scam vans not subscribe to acpo guidelines (10%+2) - thus allowing him a 5mph margin of error...

Scamera van recently had a work mate at 33 in a 30.

Likely a LTi 20/20 then. If he choses to go 'not guilty', he must insist on disclosure of the video evidence.

Ask for evidence, as Mr archer (ahem) says.
Very surprised if it goes ahead for 33 in a 30.

I didn't believe him until he showed me the nip.

I'd very much like to see a copy of that NIP. I've not yet seen one for a prosecution under the ACPO guidelines. Senior Police officers swear blind that there's no such thing in the world and I'd love to be able to prove them wrong.

I would also hesitate to add that I'd like to see the civilian operator up in court explaining how he managed for formulate a judgement that 33mph is speeding when compared to 30mph...

Remember, it takes 2 witnesses to convict for speeding. One is the machine, the other is the human. The human must be an expert witness
