We are having new windows fitted at work and I am not sure if the way they intend to fit the windows is the best, or just the easiest, way. If anyone knows anything about window fitting I would be grateful for some advice.

The outside part of the building, and the inside of the window openings, is rendered, over brick. I think that the best way to fit the windows would be to remove the render, fit the windows to the brick walls, then replace the render. This is how the original windows were fitted. The installers want to leave the render in place and fit the windows in the smaller opening formed by the rendered walls, so there will be a rendered surface between the brick and the window.

What do you think? Remove render before fitting or fit with render in place? I know what would be easier, and think I know what would be better.
