Hi All

I have a mk3 fiesta xr2i 8v 1991
I am trying to wire in a new all singing all dancing alarm but having loads of grief the central locking.

There are four wires on the ford locking system
one yellow one white which seems to be the feed to the other doors
then a brown and a red/black? which switch from positive to negative depending on whether the door is locked or unlocked

The alarm i have has 6 wires 3 for lock 3 for unlock on the wiring diagram they read

Unlock
* White
/* Yellow
\* Orange

Lock
* White/Black
/* Yellow/Black
\* Orange/Black

The Yellow and yellow/black are always in the switch the switch changes from the Orange to white and Orange/Black to White/Black

the lock and unlock on the alarm are 2 seperate circuits

Putting a meter across the alarm wires i get a positive 12v reading from one of the wires when i press the unlock button but cannot work out how i wire this into the existing system if its wired into the negative side of the ford wiring it will surely blow the alarm fuse if i wire it into the positive on the alarm its not going to do anything so therefore where is the relay for the central locking and how would i wire it into there

Know its a bit pie in the sky but hopefully somebody electrical technical can help or point me in the right direction

I've owned two Mk3's, attempted to fit C/L to the first and gave up so haven't bothered with No2!

Try http://www.fiestaturbo.com/ if you've not already. Loads of knowledge on Mk3's.
