What is half hide interior?

Such a dumb question I'm sure but it's hard to tell from a photo. Which bits are not leather?

Pretty sure half leather means that only the seat fronts are real leather.

I think TVR called the non leather "look a like" bits Ambla. Half leather is just the seat facings.

That one actually looks like full leather, unless a very decieving picture. Half leather ones do have slight colour variations and the heavier grain in the vinyl makes it obvious. As already mentioned, half leather means only seat facing, and it is obvious where leather meets vinyl on the seat, particularly on lighter leather.

Full leather cars are rarer but do look much better. Everything including hood hoop, windscreen surround etc is leather.

Mine has full leather and even the carpet binding was in leather. Door inserts are carpet.

What colour is your dash? So it has a kind of leather look to it then, despite being vinyl?

My half hide interior, can't really tell the difference between the real and man made materials unless you look really closely. No colour differences.

There's no colour difference between the leather and the ambla in my half-hide Chim. Again, it's just the top of the seat base, the front of the seat squab. I think the whole of the headrest? I'll check if I remember.

You can see the difference on mine if you get close enough. The leather has less "texture" than the ambla.

I've had a full hide griff (6 years) 1/2 hide for 12 years.. Most people think it is all leather..
half hide definetly wears better..and need less atention. My seat facings (leather, take a lot of effort (creams, etc) to keep looking good)
Didn't see the need for the extra expense when I specc'd my second griff..

Nice to have, but wouldn't pay a premium for it 2nd hand..

Agree,, The real leather bit's are the bit's that don't look as good as the rest!!
