Water induced misfire

Took the Chimaera out today and got caught in a position where I had to go through a shallow ford....cue steam from bonnet vents etc...i went slowly but now have a terrible misfire...i can hear 3 cylinders back firing very badly and the engine feels VERY lumpy....any advice in what I can do as I want to drive it this afternoon???

I wouldn't be too sure about using it in it's current state. I'd be inclined to ring a dealer or specialist if no knowledgeable soul pipes up on here.

My understanding is that water ingestion is quite possible for these cars and there can be expensive results if you are unlucky.

let it cool and then give it a liberal coating of WD40.

(WD = water dispersant)

if you went slowly there is next to no chance of water ingestion. unclip the pipe to the mass meter... no water inside = no probs.

most likely is the belts threw some water around under the bonnet and soaked the plugs / dizzy.

if its no better then...sart getting concerned

open up the intake pipe and guess what???? I found a large piece of sticky back foam blocking the tube to the air mass meter (I guess Valerie Singleton helped build my Chimaera ) Luckily no water present and the gauze was stopping the foam being ingested any further...the misfire has now gone , but I cant help feeling that this piece of foam was robbing me of some performance????....
