Hey, having just bought my 182 after checking the tread was fine on the tyres I discovered that for some reason all 4 tyres were different makes (but all of very similar wear strangley)

Anyway, I've decided I'll start from fresh and invest in 4 new tyres for the car as I plan on owning it for a long while yet.

I require 205/45 R16's, and they seem to come in 2 load/speed ratings. Either 83V's or 87W's.

I have looked around and with some advice am considering some Toyo R1's which are 87W, which comes to £275 on camskill.com. I don't want to scrimp but I don't want to fork out ridiculous money on tyres as I do have a budget as everyone usually does now.

Are there any better tyres for similar money?

Thanks

Jaffman

Thats not bad for toyos. Just beware that they take about 200-250 miles to bed in properly.

All four plus delivery.

Would you guys recommend Toyo's as a very good make or could I get significantly better for not much more outlay?

Toyos are a very good make and are used quite regularly by the TVR community on here.

They are very squirmy for the bedding in period so just take care.

I use toyo T1R's on my 205 which is tuned to a similar power to a 182 and I find them very good. I havent tried a lot of different tyres but am very happy with the quality-for-the-price of the T1R's so would recommend them as a road tyre.

That seems like a good price too, might be worth checking other places like ebay or blackcircles just to see if you can get any cheaper.

Get her back on the michelin pilot exalto 2's she was born with. Awesome tyres. Not very cheap, best part of £100 per corner. But you will really notice the difference!
I stand ready to be shot down here but, I think you'll find that these particular tyres were designed especially for the 182 sport.
I wouldnt use anything else on a 182.

Exalto 2 is definitely the answer. You can usually find someone doing a pretty good deal on a set too smile

The best tyre for the 182 is the Exalto 2.
However, the Hankook Evo V12 is a pretty good tyre too and are rather cheaper than the Michelin's are.

Another vote for PE2s' here. Got on very well with them on my old Clio. As said the 182 was developed to work with this tyre.

Best way to buy them is to shop online in my experience. Think I paid £180 fitted for the last pair but did manage to get them cheaper than that in the past.

I have always stuck with the PE2s, thankfully I don't have to pay full retail which helps but I still wouldn't fit anything else.
