What damage to your cars have you witnessed?
Discussion
Hi atm I own a crappy Punto GT! It only cost me £800...
I got it for two reasons. One, I had just been made redundant, and two, I was so paranoid about owning an expensive car! Before the Punto I owned a Clio 182 which cost me £6k, more money than I had ever had, it was all I thought I wanted at the time. Thing is I found myself becoming so paranoid about all my money sitting outside the front of my house. In the past few years I've had my windows bricked (whilst parked in the work car park) and coins chucked at my car (whilst I was driving!). My brother's had his car key'd twice, and my mum's come out of Sainsburys to find a big dent in her rear wing and no sign of any note or anything.
The reason for this thread is that I keep getting that feeling that I want something decent again! There's a lovely Evo 5 for sale near me...
Last night I was near the window and saw these chavs coming down my road, and they were getting near my car (which was parked about five houses down) and they booted their football right at my car! I was pretty mad, but they ran off before I would of had a chance to do anything. Doesn't seem to be major damage but not really had a proper look yet, will do soon.
Thing is I don't really care as the car of full of marks anyway and it cost so little, in a way I'm glad as it's put that thought out of my head about buying something decent again! I hate chavs...

Yeah, I'd have thought you'd go out and check OP.
I watched a bunch of kids walk over the bonnets, roofs and tailgates or each and every car parked on a street I used to live on in Stirling - all the cars were parked end to end, there were about 6 of them and they can't have been more than 12 years old. Police turned up - don't know what was said to them but probably along the lines off "You've been very naughty so here's a free Xbox each and £300 to go and spend on games".
I was thankful my car wasn't parked on that street that night...but it didn't matter as 2 weeks later I got mugged in Dumfries...managed to get away from the guy but he smashed my car up for me, all the windows and panels were smashed/dented. Fortunately I ran straight into police round the corner who caught him in the act
He was also caught on camera and various witnesses, erm, witnessed it.
He was made to pay for the market value of the car (Honda Prelude), and I was getting cheques for £12 a month for the first few months.

On topic:
When parked in our street:
1) Drunk driver rammed 3 cars, mine was the last one to get hit and the only one not totalled.
His "Bimmer" lost a wheel tough so they got him pretty quick (tough he was still trying and make a run for it(!!!).
2) Old lady hit my car on the side, scraping my front wheel arch. Never found her
3) Dents in the rear hatch from a bicycle hitting it. Neighbour told me a couple of youngsters ran into it, but didn't see any damage so took no names/adresses.
The last two cost me a considerable amount of money.

Everything I've mentioned happened in different locations! Actually, I also forgot to say about my wing mirrors getting smashed off, which also happened outside my house (at night)HellDiver said:
So someone dmanaged your car last night, and you've found time to post about it on the internet, and you still haven't gone out to inspect the damage? Riiiiight....
Show how bothered about my car is don't it :P I've been out to the car three times including driving to work but everytime so far I've forgotten to have a proper look. If there is anything, it's very minor.RobCrezz said:
Where in Essex do you live? Ive never had issues like that!
Windows were smashed in Canvey, my brother's car is in Wesfcliffe, all the rest happened in Southend!Didn't witness it but,
We're from Aberdeen, support the football team
, went down to Dundee for an away match, at this point my dad had a vauxhall zafira. After getting back the car, the wing mirror had been kicked and badly damaged.
On the way out of Dundee, we stopped at a petrol station so my dad could have a look at it, and while in the petrol station a riot broke out between about 30-40 people. Had to make a quick exit, drove out the entrance and sped up the road.
And just lately, dad bought a new Ford Mondeo Titanium X, the parking sensors weren't working, okay, still bought it and they fixed it for us. When we got the car back, the folk at the garage had scraped the car, so back in it went to get fixed...unbelievably had been scraped...AGAIN! and all the CD's were out of the car, and it had done about 180 miles since we put it in that morning!!
It went back in yesterday to resprayed. Hopefully this time they've done it without any problems.

A similar thing happened to me, I parked my car outside my mates house before a night out and thought nothing of it with it being a quiet road, no residents parking signs or anything like that. Anyway we're walking back from town up his street and that's when I noticed that some f
king prick had kicked the wing mirror clean off my car scratching all the paint on the door in the process.I may only own a tatty old MK3 Golf but it's mine, it's my first car, I saved all the money I earnt to buy it and insure it, spent lots of time making it look nice by sorting out rust and polishing the paintwork back up and some t
t came along and kicked the mirror right off just because he could.
If I'd have managed to catch the b
d at it I'd have torn his f
king head off.
Hope you guys are questioning the extra 180 miles!!! What Scamming garage are you using? Pitstop or something? If you need a good garage in Aberdeenshire i know a good one which I always take my car to! They do a superb job, but are often very busy, no job is too big or too little! Probably a good 15miles away from BoD though...

well we bought the car from Arnold Clark so it has to go to their garage. but yes we have.we usually use Dod sims on cotton street, Aberdeen. The guy their is really good, and fairly cheap!
Oh, Jay, did you get my email? I replied the other day...
Yeah got the email, i'll forward you the posters i made up at some point.
Back O/T
I had my rover's wing mirror kicked when i was at work (Behind a bar). rover was parked well away from the bar but some A Hole had gone up and down the street kicking off like 10 cars wing mirrors!!! (my sisters included who lives up the road) Got police statements taken and nothing was done

Dad got home about 15mins ago, says the car should have been delivered back to us today...and hasn't, so phoned up arnold clark, the receptionist went to put us through, and hung up!
Currently back on the phone...he's mad!
I've got a 182 at the minute, it's my pride and joy but i'm considering getting a cheaper car due to a few shopping trolley dents i've had to have fixed and the fact that I now park it on the street and not in a garage due to a house move.
I'm thinking of getting a fun 1k car (mx-5!) and then not having to fret about damage that may or may not happen.

Seriously you need to move.
I have just been sad enough to log into AQA online and quote a question that I asked last year!Q. (12/07/09) where is the safest place to live in essex?
A. Southend in Essex is the safest town in Britain with a population of more than 100,000 (160,257). Poole, in Dorset is second, & Colchester is third.

Had chavs spit on my car, throw coins at my car, throw an egg at my car, kick a football at my car.
Also had my car broken into in the cinema car park while i was inside watching a film.
This is why i now drive a 400 pound car.
Word of advice: Don't come to Newport
