Getting insurance problem

Hi All..
i'm a new owner and seem to be struggling to get a decent quote for insurance..

I'm 39, live in a rural area, garaged T350t but unfortunately (or fortunately) it's got a few Mods which seem to be killing to insurance quotes:

Nitrons
Big Brakes
TVR- Power 4.0l Rebuild

The Mods seems to be knocking the insurance sky high with most insurers (I've tried a lot of the specialist's). Are there any particular insurers who are mod friendly? I'm beginning to think I made a mistake buying it already.. and I haven't even collected it yet.

I'm in exactly the same position, 1yr ownership, no bad history, but car has has a 4L rebuild. I was looking for unlimited mileage also, but I'm going to have to limit it I think.

What sort of quotes are you getting?

Only one company has bothered to quote me at the moment for 1K with 250 excess... the rest have failed to call me back so far.

I'm getting similar prices.. Flux and Heritage both quoted in the £900-£1k region..waiting to hear back from others. Those are almost double to quotes I got before buying the car and quoting it as stock.

I'm almost tempted to take the Nitrons off and see if I can sell them.

Anyone want to trade their stock 3.6 for a TVR Power 4.0?

Just a thought - what's the original spec sheet that an insurer would use to validate the parts on these cars - think about it.

(I'm sure TVR used Nitrons as an optional extra on purchase...)

Nitrons should make bugger all difference - I have Racing reds on mine and they had no effect on the insurance. I'm assuming it's the engine upgrade thats killing it for you rather than the shocks or brakes.

As someones just mentioned try MSM or A-plan as they're pretty competitive.

Mannings were 2nd cheapest, but so far MSM are the best by a good margin.

Going by the MsM price I'll be keeping the Nitrons anything that can help handling can't be a bad thing

Mannings insure my Supercharger Chimaera for a very reasonable fee.
