Budget is around £50 - Ideally I'd like an all rounder pair, the running will consist of 50% road and 50% cross country.

I like the look of these, though not sure how they'll do with squash? Black soles might be an issue

Any suggestions?

I'd be surprised if you could find any decent running shoes with non-marking soles suitable for squash. I'd definitely get 2 pairs.

I bought a similar pair a couple of years ago that I use for running and playing squash.

They are not ideal for either sport but are a good all round compromise. I wouldn't want to do a marathon in them though (but I've done a few 10km runs).

I wouldn't worry about the soles, mine are black but are non-marking.

I ended up with a pair of Asics for running (well walking) and some Hi-Tec squash shoes. I am not even close to being a seasoned veteran at either so didn't want to spend loads. I got these -

It might be stating the obvious but make sure you try them on in a shop and don't just buy them off the internet. Its amazing how much they can actually differ in terms of fitment/cushioning/comfort etc...

It's true, Even size...I had to go to a size 9 (normally I take a 7) for some Adidas Kanadia cross country shoes recently. Tried them on in shop first, made my excuses of having to "think about it" and went home and ordered on the net.

The other reason I'd recommend 2 pairs is you don't want to be bringing mud and dirt into the squash court on your running shoes. It can be dangerous as it makes the court floor slippery. I had a really clean pair of runners that still left little grains of dirt when I played badminton in them.
