Bugger, I did get it - but forgot to reply biggrin

I'm not only going to Beltane, I'm IN the damn thing biggrin

So I can't meet up, but if it's your first time, I'd suggest being at the Acropolis for the start, then heading left below the Observatory to watch Fire Point. Those two are the highlights. (Left as you look at the Acropolis - don't turn around and head to the left of the Observatory past the cannon - Fire Point are on the north slope over looking Leith, to the left of the path next to the bonfire).

If you fancy laughing at me, head down to Water Point after the Procession leaves the Acropolis (from the crowd area in front of the Acropolis, bear slightly left down the road and we're down there, on the left), or stay at said Acropolis as I'll be up on top of it a little while later.

I'm the bald viking with a kilt and beard tongue out

Oh - if anyone does recognise me, don't be offended if I ignore you. It's a bit of a character thing - we can't acknowledge individuals as we have st loads to get through for your viewing delight biggrin

biggrin Great stuff Graham, much thanks!

When would be a good time to aim for arriving at the Acropolis for the start - with getting a decent viewing point in mind?

Not sure when the gates open, but it kicks off at 9, so I would say 8:30 at the absolute latest, 8 if you can.
